Kanta Horio (Hiroshima, 1978) is a Japanese artist living in Tokyo, which combines computer programming with kinetic objects, electronics and musical interfaces, created by himself.

His work consists in audiovisual installations and performances –looking simple and minimalist, but with a sensitive and meticulous structure– based on physical phenomena and used engines, electromagnets, contact microphones, balance mechanisms, video cameras and other objects.

In addition of his activity as an artist and cultural entertainer in Japan, Kanta Horio has acted throughout the world since 2001, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Belgium and Holland.

This next performance will be Kanta Horio’s third visit to Barcelona. Formerly, he acted in Metrònom (OFF-ICMC 2005) and in Sonar, where he introduced the pieces "SusPapView" and "particle". At Nivell Zero he will present a newly work created for the occasion.
