Fundació Suñol joins the programme of activities made for the Festes de Santa Eulàlia and organizes a visit to the exhibtion Known Masterpieces conducted by the fundation’s team. The exhibition, which makes up the first part of the In three acts cicle, aims to question the «contemporary classic» status which some of the artists of the Josep Suñol Collection have acquired and wonders how can we retorn them to an unforeseen condition in order to establish new dialogues.
From Dalí to Warhol, from Miró to Tàpies or Mapplethorpe, the Josep Suñol Collection has a cosmogony of artists who occupy an exceptional place in the greatest museums around the world, installed in some kind of atemporal limb. But what makes and artist immortal, what launches him into posterity?
