Dalí & Film / Dalí: Painting and film
On the occasion of the exhibition Dalí & Film presented by the Tate Modern in London between June and September of 2007, Fundació Suñol collaborated with this institution by lending the work Studies for the Script for the Film “The Surrealist Mystery of New York” (1935). This retrospective, which included over one hundred pieces from collections around the world, was an exploration of the central role of cinema in the art of Dalí, who, with his collaborations with Luis Buñuel, Alfred Hitchcock and Walt Disney, created some of the most influential images of avant-garde cinema.
Later, in the summer of 2008, the exhibition would travel to the MoMA in New York, where it would be shown under the title Dalí: Painting & Film.
