‘Recycling Intelligences’ and visionary architectures by Miquel Navarro

30.04.2026 - 17.07.2026

“Recycling intelligences” is an installation created by architect Cristina Valle and model maker Àngel García, presented as a large illuminated surface on which 370 3D models of companies are distributed, based on real social housing projects. The installation explores how AI can open up new possibilities for living.

In Miquel Navarro’s works, we often find architectural elements that refer to his hometown, Mislata, which is both agricultural and industrial. We usually see sculptural landscapes, cities, installations, and montages. In 1980, he participated in the exhibition ‘New Images from Spain’ at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, organized by gallery owner Fernando Vijande, after which doors opened for him around the world and he became part of important collections and museums worldwide.

Both proposals draw on the past to imagine architectural formulas for the future, recovering collective memory as a starting point for rethinking architecture.

The exhibition is part of the celebrations for Barcelona World Architecture Capital, which aims to bring architecture, urban planning, and landscaping closer to everyone, highlighting their ability to transform the way we live and coexist. At the same time, it aims to raise awareness of historical and contemporary architectural heritage and promote Catalan architecture around the world through a diverse, inclusive, and accessible program of events, in collaboration with the vibrant network that nurtures architectural culture in our city. Up to 170 organizations and institutions from the city’s architectural, cultural, and educational sectors have contributed to the program.
