This dynamic visit will immerse your students in an exhibition where the aesthetics of comics, the language of the mass media and references to emblematic works of Art History are mixed. With the help of Equipo Crónica, the emblematic Valencian collective that marked the Spanish artistic scene of the 60s and 70s, they will discover that art is a powerful means of expression and that, as such, it can be a transformative tool, capable of challenging them. established norms, provoke critical thinking and, above all, inspire social change.
Equipo Crónica developed a unique style that combined elements of pop art and references to art history with a desire for social and political criticism, addressing issues such as Franco’s dictatorship, consumerism, mass culture and the relationship between art and power. In this activity we will explore the social and political potential of art through their works and invite students to take an active role and use art to denounce and transform what they do not like in their environment.
We will be inspired by the creations of Equipo Crónica and other examples of artists and movements that have used art as a form of resistance and we will make a collective creation that will remind us that we are active cultural agents for social transformation.
