La jarra vertiente o Máquina de dibujar

The exhibition La jarra vertiente o Máquina de dibujar [The Gushing Jug or Drawing Machine], curated by Marisa Díez de la Fuente, presented a selection of 32 works by Luis Frangella (Buenos Aires, 1944 – New York, 1990), all created between 1980 and 1989, with the aim of showing the work of an immanent and genuine artist, far from any formal category, in the creative representation of which transgression and tradition are mixed, while moving along the fine line between abstraction and a permanent challenge to figuration.

Frangella creates a lucid and subtle universe that responds to his particular perception of the relationships between objects and their proportions, in a constant search for the original veracity of things. His laboratory-workshop becomes a space that generates ideas and is a permanent learning motor, from where the artist listens to the world and transforms what he perceives.
