Playing Art. Education, Art and Design

2019

Fundación Juan March, Madrid

22 March – 23 June 2019

Curated by: Juan Bordes, Manuel Fontán del Junco and Aida Capa.

The Fundació Suñol teams up with the Fundación Juan March in the exhibition Playing Art. Education, Art and Design, contributing around twenty works from the collection, including some by very important artists such as Giacomo Balla and Alexander Calder. The exhibition, which could be visited between March 22 and June 23, 2019 at the Madrid headquarters of the Fundación Juan March, aims to demonstrate the extent to which the new pedagogies of the nineteenth century have been a factor in explaining the emergence of art, architecture and avant-garde design, seeking the origin of modern art in the childhood of its creators and thus demonstrating the relationship between educational practices (and their educational games and toys) and modern art.
